Quilts I gave at Christmas (and after)
I just love Snail's Trail, and chose to make a duvet cover for Neil and Meghan for their spare room. I quilted the top to flannelette to protect the piecing from rubbing on the duvet. Then I backed it with flannelette to help it stay on the bed. Sydney and Kaylee both received little Irish Chain doll quilts; this purple one is Sydney's. They measure about 22" square. To keep them light, I just used white flannelette for batting and cute flannelettes for the back.
The sampler quilt in pinks and purples I gave to my good friends Terry and Arlene. My stash is getting low!
Still to come are pictures of the quilt I gave Scott and Tara for their spare bed, which is this quilt that I added borders to so it would fit a double bed. It turned out really nice, and I hope to get a picture of it soon. Also a picture of Kaylee's quilt. I sure wish I'd had the camera at home when I finished all these!
My newest little great-nephew Jamie (born December 28th) got a Nemo quilt, and while I was shopping for fabric for it, I found a wonderful Thomas the Tank Engine fabric, so Jessie got one too. I did just a simple pattern so that the fabrics would not get too chopped up and there would be large chunks of the design. Jessie was suitably impressed with his, Jamie didn't say much!
My new year's resolution is quite keepable, I think. I want to finish all the quilts I have started. So there should be some more pictures up in the next month or so. I am working on a Storm at Sea quilt in greens for ourselves. Now that I have put it up here, it WILL get done!
